Toddler Snacks
Jul 15, 2024As a dietitian, I am very aware of the ingredients in the foods I give my little one!
I do try to make my own snacks for her when I can (fruit snack recipe below), but I'll also include some of our favorite "no sugar added" or low sugar pre packaged snacks linked!
No Sugar fruit snacks:
1 Cup of fruit (your choice, I've done berries, mango, kiwi, cherries, etc)
4 tbsp Gelatin Powder, linked my fave flavorless one
Splash (2 tbsp max) of apple/orange juice or water
Optional: you can add honey or even vanilla if you want more sweetness/flavor
Blend your 1 C of fruit and splash of juice to a smooth puree. You can strain the seeds if you like, I never do.
Heat in a small pan over low and whisk in the gelatin powder.
Pour into your snack molds. I prefer pouring a large amount over then using a dough scraper or straight knife to spread the gelatin into each mold. The set I linked include pipettes but it takes too long and the gelatin already starts to set up!
Cool and set in the fridge for 2+ hours.
Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 5 days.
These don't taste like store bought fruit snacks, so don't expect something very sweet lol! BUT my toddler loves these so much.
Prepackaged snacks we enjoy that are "healthier".
Plus more on my Amazon that I am always updating!
